Intellectual Property Guide for Vietnam

The Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam (IPVN), part of Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology, has identified increased public awareness of intellectual property rights as a priority for Vietnam. This guide helps to raise awareness and understanding of intellectual property obligations and the importance of observing intellectual property rights. Intended for an industry audience, this guide also promotes opportunities for social and economic inclusion through the intellectual property system.

This guide is the product of collaboration between the governments of Vietnam and Canada and was funded by Global Affairs Canada and implemented by Cowater International and the Institute of Public Administration of Canada, the Expert Deployment Mechanism for Trade and Development (EDM).

The guide was prepared by Professor Jeremy de Beer of the University of Ottawa in Canada, in consultation with IPVN.

Farm Design was responsible for the concept design, illustration and typesetting of the publications – first in English and then in Vietnamese. Farm Design researched and sourced relevant images of intellectual property types in Vietnam, and negotiated usage rights with relevant owners in Vietnam.
